The Kilmacolm and Quarrier’s Village Community Council speaks for everyone in both Kilmacolm and Quarrier’s Village. We are not party political but put forward the community’s views on a wide variety of local issues to a range of public authorities. These issues cover all sorts of local matters and can include, for example, potholes in the roads, new planning applications, arrangements for bin collections, requests for a licence to sell alcohol, and plenty of others. The Community Council is a statutory body. The law requires the Community Council to be consulted on some of these matters, so on certain matters public authorities must consider what we have to say on behalf of the community.
